SBS on Demand users opting out of gambling ads

Ninety percent of SBS on Demand users who have used the feature to unsubscribe from particular ad groups have decided to delete gambling advertisements.

The remaining 10% asked for no advertising for quick service restaurants or alcohol.

Users must use an online form to request to opt out of any one of the three ad categories. For instance, it means that viewers of Addicted Australia won't see any advertisements for gambling or alcohol.

However, only about 1300 of the 12 million active subscribers have chosen to do so thus far.

A significant 90% of SBS on Demand users opting out of specific ad categories have chosen to remove gambling ads. The other 10% chose to exclude ads for fast food or alcohol. This opt-out feature is accessible through an online form, allowing viewers to customize their ad experience, such as avoiding gambling or alcohol ads while watching certain programs.
