Scams and fraud in the lottery industry

Lottery scams are sadly quite common because so many desperate people want to believe they’ll suddenly become millionaires. I’ve seen every trick over my poker career: fake lottery winnings, “free” lottery trip packages, colleges that teach “lottery strategies.”

Some scams charge “fees” upfront forpicking winning numbers or processing your “winnings.” Others want you to buy scratchers or lotto tickets in bulk for “discounts.” Don’t fall for it! The lottery is designed so the house always wins. Your odds of a big jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

I once had a friend who spent $30K on “special” numbers from a seer. She went into debt but never won a dime. The only winners are the hucksters running the scam. My advice: if something sounds too good to be true for the lottery, it probably is. Save your money, buy a ticket or two for fun, and enjoy the fantasy. Chances of winning big? Not in your lifetime, buddy! The lottery is for dreaming, not banking on.

Scams can range from small-scale scams, such as fake lottery tickets, to more sophisticated schemes, such as advance fee frauds. In an advance fee fraud, scammers will contact potential victims and claim that they have won a large prize in a lottery, but that they need to pay a fee in order to receive the money

Yes you are right these type of scams are made over the phones and you can easily and quite importantly pick these people up with their tones that arr not that much good and therefore one can always beat them in their own strategies.
