A Scottish soccer player has been cleared of conniving with two companions, one of whom is a professional gambler, to get a yellow card on purpose. Despite the fact that the player, Elgin City striker Kane Hester, admitted to being involved in a conspiracy to defraud Bet365 of £14,000 and revealing to police the earnings hidden in a nightstand drawer, he was not charged.A jury at Dundee Sheriff Court cleared Hester and his companions, Calvin Parrot and Brodie Stewart Myres, of colluding to spot-fix in an effort to defraud the online sportsbook in less than an hour.
