Seneca Nation presidential candidate says New York deserves no gaming money

In upstate New York, the Seneca Nation of Indians will choose their new president in November. The task of pursuing the tribe's unresolved Class III gaming compact talks with the state will fall to whoever succeeds the current president.

The tribe wants to pay the state a lower effective tax of 25% on the gross gaming revenue generated by its slot machines. The compact was terminated in the State Assembly as a result of a previous proposal that authorized the Senecas to construct a casino resort in Rochester.
