Seven Kentucky racetracks had formally filed for sports gambling licenses, according to Governor Andy Beshear, and more are anticipated to do the same.
As part of the state's attempts to legalize sports betting, this action will enable Kentuckians to place legitimate sports wagers starting in September.
Kentucky residents will be able to legally wager on sports at racetracks beginning on September 7, and virtual betting can be obtained starting on the 28th of September.
