Shreveport casinos renounce temporary ban on smoking

After last week's vote by the city council to rescind a COVID-19-enacted temporary ban on indoor tobacco use, Shreveport casinos are restoring smoking areas on their riverboats. The majority of pandemic-related restrictions have long since been abolished, but the Shreveport City Council recently reviewed the anti-smoking rule again and last week voted to overturn the temporary law. The decision was passed amid strong public opposition, with many locals and casino employees advocating for a permanent smoking ban.
