For encouraging unlawful online gambling, six people have been taken into custody in Kathmandu. According to reports in the Nepalese news media, during the arrest, games and cash valued at US$1.8 million were taken.
The Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau states that all six of the suspects were from various municipalities and ranged in age from 22 to 29.
The suspects were charged with making it easier for others to partake in online gambling by disseminating their bank account QR codes via social media and with organizing illicit online gambling through the website Wolf777 Casino.
