SkyCity Entertainment Group has declared that SkyCity Adelaide has been given special permission by the High Court of Australia to appeal a ruling made by the South Australian Court of Appeal.
The interpretation of certain clauses in the Adelaide Casino Duty Agreement, which have an effect on how casino duty is calculated in relation to loyalty points converted for gaming machine play at SkyCity Adelaide, is the subject of this appeal.
Because of the complexity of the issues involved, both SkyCity Adelaide and the South Australian Treasurer had requested declaratory relief from the South Australian Supreme Court.
