Slovakia hears Conservative calls to toughen gambling advertising laws

A Slovakian Conservative party union has demanded that the "Law of Advertising and Media Services" be revised to incorporate additional safeguards for young people and vulnerable audiences. The political parties Slovensko, For the People, and the Christian Union have submitted an urgent proposal to the National Council of Slovakia to close media loopholes that have permitted the promotion of gambling and alcohol with few restrictions. The government is being pressured by the Conservative parties to outlaw television commercials for gambling services and alcoholic beverages from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
