Spanish police officer jailed for gambling with stolen crime money

For violating the very laws he was sworn to enforce, a Spanish police officer was fired. He may have had a light sentence given the nature of the crime, but that means his days of being a law enforcement officer are over. A member of the Spanish Civil Guard was sentenced last week to five months in prison and a ten-month suspension from their position by the Provincial Court of Alicante. The unidentified officer was found guilty of taking US$9,795 from an anti-drug operation and using it to gamble at a nearby casino on roulette.
