Sports betting study among college students reveals surprising results

Concerning data on involvement rates among college students came from a sports betting survey. More than 3,500 people between the ages of 18 and 22 were polled, and the results showed that 58% of them had wagered on sports at least once in the previous year. The participation percentage was much greater among individuals surveyed who reside on a college campus, at 67%. While the US gambling industry and its licensed sportsbooks emphasize that sports betting should be done for fun, 60% of college gamblers claimed their primary motivation for betting is to gain money.
