Star Entertainment embroiled in fraudulent purchases of gambling chips

If anti-gambling commentators in Australia didn't always have grounds for doubting the legitimacy of the gaming industry, Star Entertainment is adding to their list. In addition to assisting with money laundering and misrepresenting official documents, the casino operator has now publicly acknowledged to additional lawbreaking antics as part of its daily operations. Star has admitted to illegally selling gaming chips at its Treasury Casino, dealing another blow to the Australian gaming industry. It accomplished this by allowing gamblers to pay with credit cards. The company admitted its wrongdoing to Queensland Attorney General Shannon Fentiman, resulting in a guilty plea on seven charges.
