Due to the underperformance of its sites and the increase in taxes in New South Wales, Star Entertainment Group was forced to remove hundreds of jobs and executive bonuses earlier this year. The corporation has recently, however, been able to work with the NSW government to secure a concession on casino duty rates that will help it bring its finances under control. The state decided to apply smaller, staged hikes to the taxes the casino firm must pay, as was reported on Friday. The present 20.91% poker machine tax will thus remain in effect until the conclusion of the fiscal year. It wouldn't increase until July 1st, 2024, when it's anticipated to reach 21.91%.
