State-owned Svenska Spel is fined £7.5 million by Spelinspektionen for having player protection deficiencies.

The Swedish government fined Svenska Spel, a company it owns, £7.5 million because it didn't protect some players from gambling problems.

This happened because the company didn't follow the rules from 2019 about gambling safety. Svenska Spel's CEO said they are trying to fix the issues but disagreed with some parts of the decision.

They might appeal the fine. Another company, Yggdrasil Gaming, was also fined for not following licensing rules.
