The Heaven Branch, an organization created by Sunderland AFC supporters to honor devoted supporters who have passed away, has received £10,700 in lottery funding to enhance its offerings.
Founded in 2021, the branch has supporters who have been appointed to positions like secretary and chairman. Bradley Lowery, the branch mascot, passed away from cancer at the age of six.
With the help of a National Lottery Community Fund grant, the branch will be able to provide more professional counseling to those who have lost a loved one.
