Sweden has decided to formally join the anti-match-fixing Macolin Convention of the Council of Europe. The convention was adopted in 2014 and uses international collaboration and information sharing on suspected bad actors to counteract the manipulation of sports results. It is the exclusive worldwide legal framework that prohibits the fixing of sporting events. In addition to Australia and Morocco, it has been signed by 32 other European nations and ratified by eight European member states, including Sweden, since its inception.
