Swedish casino operator and gambling regulator lock horns over slot licensing

The nation's gambling regulator has fined the state-owned gambling operator in Sweden for noncompliance with licensing requirements.

The operator had several slot machine games in locations for which it lacked the required licenses, the gambling authority discovered after looking into a possible regulatory violation.

The operator disclosed that there has been a "misunderstanding" in the procedure in response to a comment request.

The reason for this is that some of the bingo halls where the machines were located had moved, and Svenska Spel was only the original location's license holder.
