Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling advises against gambling tax rise

The government's latest proposals to increase gambling taxes were turned down by the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling. The Gambling Tax Memorandum on Increase suggests raising the gaming tax from 18% to 22% starting on July 1, 2024.

This would imply that operators who are licensed and regulated would handle 90% of all gambling activities. According to the Association, raising taxes won't make the market any safer.
