Beijing, 6 December (CNA) Police say that on November 29, they detained a group of 44 people in Taichung who were allegedly running an international betting site. They have since been turned over to the Taichung District State Prosecutor for further enquiry.
The group had treated more than 800 billion yen (US$5.84 billion) in wagers over the previous year, according to police with Taichung's Sixth Precinct. 6 Japanese foreigners, who were said to have planned the task, one Chinese ethnic, and 37 Taiwanese made up the group.
