Taxes on gambling support the Australian state

According to statistics made public by the government, gambling taxation in the Australian province of Victoria more than twice from the previous year.
A$600 million from the controversial industry has aided state finances, with €223 million emerging from poker machines. This is more than twice the estimates from the exact period the year before, the qtr to the beginning of September.
Despite negative coverage of the gambling industry in Australia's press, the data from the Department of Budget and Finance for the qtr have been very helpful to Victoria's finances.
