Thai police are looking into the deputy chief's allegations in the internet gambling case.

The Royal Thai Police announced the formation of a committee to probe Deputy National Police Chief Surachate Hakparn for alleged money laundering tied to online gambling.

Acting Chief Kitrat Panphet disclosed the decision, stating Surachate, released on bond after surrendering, would face an internal inquiry.

The investigation amid internal tensions underscores calls for police reforms in Thailand.
