Thailand boxer arrested for promoting gambling sites on Facebook

Thailand police detained a boxer who was using Facebook to advertise illicit gambling websites.

For every post he promoted on his approximately 440,000-follower Facebook page, the boxer received $45.18 from gambling sites.

As part of a broad initiative to stop online promotions and advertisements for illegal gambling, the arrest was made following a joint investigation. It was a component of Thailand's ongoing campaign to eradicate illicit gaming within its borders.
