The Dutch authority KSA will launch a pilot campaign to raise public awareness of Cruks.

The gambling authority of The Netherlands, Kansspelautoriteit, has initiated a trial campaign to raise public awareness about the Central Register for the Exclusion of Games of Chance (Cruks). This campaign, undertaken by advertising agency KesselsKramer, has been launched on various social media platforms. Its aim is to provide players with comprehensive information on how they can utilize Cruks to voluntarily exclude themselves from all Dutch licensed gambling operators.

In collaboration with the Trimbos Institute, the KSA is ensuring the visibility of the campaign through mailings, waiting room screens, and posters. Cruks was established by the KSA in October 2021, coinciding with the implementation of the Remote Gambling Act by the Dutch government. This act serves as a regulatory framework for online gambling within the country.

Through the Cruks service, players have the opportunity to take a break from gambling by registering themselves, which prohibits them from engaging in any form of gambling for a minimum duration of six months. In an effort to facilitate accessibility, the KSA updated its self-exclusion service in April, making it more user-friendly for individuals struggling with gambling-related issues.
