You'll get a card, and so will the dealer. The two cards' values are contrasted with one another. The bet is won by whoever has the card with the highest value. The lawsuits won't matter.
If the two cards are tied, you can choose to go to war or surrender. You have two options: you can go to war and double your bet, or you may surrender and lose half of it.
Before dealing again, the dealer will remove three cards from the deck.
If your card is higher than the dealer's, you will win the original amount of the wager; but, if the dealer wins, you will also lose the full value of the wager. You'll take home the doubles.
