The latest sports betting measure in California fails.

The attempt to legalize sports betting in California through a ballot initiative has been halted by the organizers due to insufficient support from the CNIGA and other tribes.

The CNIGA, consisting of 52 tribal governments, expressed concerns about the initiative causing division.

As a result, the initiative has been withdrawn, delaying potential sports betting legislation in California until the next legislative session in 2024.

There has always been different propositions within the camp of gambling legalization proponents in the state. They always disagree on modalities of licensing and distribution of revenue. This has always weakened the camp and made the anti gambling proponents to triumph.
