Officials from Mega Millions announced the winning Mega Millions digits for the drawing on Friday, August 4, just after 8 p.m. The Mega number was 20, while the other winning numbers were 11, 30, 45, 52, as well as 56. For states that employ the multiplier, the Megaplier was 2X. The winner must pay federal taxes, but only 10 states—including California—exempt lottery winnings from state income tax.
