The Ministry has submitted a $2.2 billion casino resort plan to the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment has presented a detailed report to the Prime Minister regarding a remarkable $2.18 billion tourist complex in the northern province of Quang Ninh. This extraordinary project, encompassing a grand casino, is being proposed by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh.

They envision a sprawling tourist haven, complete with lavish hotels and resorts, covering an expansive 245-hectare area in Van Yen village, within the Van Don district. Envisaged as a testament to opulence, this endeavor is planned to be accomplished by the third quarter of 2032, spanning a mere nine years of construction.

Once greenlit, this casino establishment will be one of the only two in Vietnam to cater to local Vietnamese residents, in accordance with a policy that was enacted back in 2016. The introduction of the Van Don project took place during a government conference in late 2018, where the Quang Ninh authority proudly unveiled its ambitious plans.

As part of the proposed timeline, the Quang Ninh People's Committee plans to kickstart the bidding process by the conclusion of 2023, provided they receive the necessary government approval.
