The ownership rights of ATG will be resolved in 2024.

According to Swedish horseracing stakeholders, the governance structure of ATG (Aktiebolaget Trav och Galopp) needs to be addressed in 2024, as stated by Anders Källström, Chairman of Svensk Travsport at the autumn meeting of the Stockholm Harness Racing Society.

In 1974, ATG was established as a government initiative to ensure sustainable funding for stakeholders involved in Swedish thoroughbred racing and trotting, serving as the totalizer and betting network for Swedish racing. Svensk Travsport, Sweden's Trotting and Breeders Association, holds a 91% stake in ATG, while Svensk Galopp, Sweden's Horseracing Authority, maintains the remaining 9%.

Despite its independent ownership, the Swedish government manages the governance of ATG through a contract between Svensk Travsport and Svensk Galopp.
