The slow-playing strategy

Slow-playing in poker is a deceptive strategy in which a player bets weakly or passively with a strong hand, in an attempt to lure other players into the pot and increase the chances of winning. Slow-playing can be dangerous if used too often, as it can give away the strength of a player's hand. To be effective, it should be used sparingly and with careful consideration otherwise it can bring you too many losses when other players clock this move.
