The Stearn Method is a card counting system developed by blackjack expert Lawrence Revere in the 1970s. It is based on the Hi-Lo system, and assigns each card a numerical value. The values are as follows: high cards (10, J, Q, K, A) have a value of -2, mid-range cards (7-9) have a value of 0, and low cards (2-6) have a value of +1. As the cards are dealt, the player keeps a running count by adding up the values of each card. A positive count indicates that there are more high cards remaining in the deck, which is advantageous to the player, and a negative count indicates that there are more low cards remaining in the deck, which is advantageous to the dealer. The player can then adjust their betting strategies accordingly.
