The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Greo Evidence Insights — the latter previously known as the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Center — are eyeing funding proposals for the Gambling-Related Suicide Research Program. Greo authorities claim that research focusing on better discovering key patterns, in addition to contributory and extenuating circumstances unique to gambling-related suicide or suicidal ideation, will be prioritized. Funding requests from plans aimed at determining the impact of gambling products, such as marketing and promotional schemes, on problem gambling are also encouraged. Greo Evidence Insights is currently accepting applications for qualitative as well as quantitative study grants until May 1, 2023. Both funding sources are devoted to research that elucidates the link between gambling and suicide, self-harm, or suicidal ideation.
