Three people arrested in Osaka over illegal laundering of gambling money

The Osaka Prefectural Police have taken three persons, ages 40 to 41, into custody on suspicion of unlawfully laundering funds from online casinos.

Around 10,000 participants in international online gambling made payments totaling $35 million to the bank accounts of the three suspects, according to Japanese news outlets. It is important to remember that internet gambling is still prohibited in Japan, even if service providers and operators offer legal operations abroad.
