To keep up with the industry's growth, New York has launched a self-exclusion scheme.

New York has initiated a groundbreaking initiative aimed at aiding individuals in regaining control over their gambling habits. The cutting-edge self-exclusion program, spearheaded by the New York Responsible Play Partnership, strives to facilitate the management of problem gambling.

Collaboration between the NYS Gaming Commission, the New York Council on Problem Gambling, and the State Office of Addiction Services and Support has birthed this transformative endeavor. All participating entities firmly believe that voluntary self-exclusion serves as a powerful tool in combatting problem gambling and diminishing gambling-related harm.

Through this innovative platform, local players can choose to exclude themselves from engaging in gambling activities within the state. This can be accomplished by either completing a form and submitting it via mail or by visiting a gambling establishment. Operators providing gaming or betting products to these self-excluded players face severe penalties.

Additionally, the program now encompasses a complimentary support system designed to assist individuals in recognizing problem gambling and seeking help.
