Total gambling ad ban reportedly back on the table with announcement soon

The 32 recommendations from the parliamentary investigation into the risks associated with online gambling are still being considered, according to the Australian Minister of Social Services. Apart from the principal suggestion of eliminating all gambling advertisements within a three-year period, the investigation proposed a nationwide approach aimed at diminishing the negative effects of gambling and designating a specific regulator who would oversee all licensing and regulations.

A nationwide ad campaign aimed at educating kids about the dangers and negative effects of internet gambling was one of the recommendations.

It is better for the government to be more strict and proactive about gambling especially in relation to kids and teens. I believe that nationwide ad campaign can help mitigate against widespread gambling addictions we are facing today in our various societies. Government can still go extra mile by increasing tax of gambling sites and bookmarkers. This will indirectly affect the gambling costs and teens may not be able to afford to gamble.

This is good that awareness programs are meant to be created kids should definitely be educated so that they can become responsible and can protect themselves the training should come with real time lessons for them actually indeed
