TransUnion survey shows more Gen X bettors gravitating towards online gambling

Operators of sportsbooks frequently target younger audiences with their marketing and promotional campaigns. Specifically, Gen Z and millennials, but statistics show that older gamblers are the ones who have recently increased wagering.

According to a recent TransUnion survey, betting activity among US consumers jumped to 26% in the fourth quarter from 24% in the same period last year, driven primarily by Gen X and baby boomers.

The October through December period saw an increase in broader betting trends, but macroeconomic difficulties caused spending to decline at both physical and online casinos and sportsbooks.
