TV commercial inspires Maryland man to win $50,000 lottery jackpot

A man from Maryland claimed he was motivated to purchase a Pick 5 lottery ticket by a TV commercial, and he ultimately won a $50,000 prize.

The Edgewood resident told Maryland Lottery officials that he was watching football on TV when he noticed an advertisement for the lottery.

Later that day, he said, a friend texted him the winning numbers.


The player won a $50,000 prize with the ticket.
