According to reports, the Gambling Commission is considering charging up to five people, including a politician, with insider betting on the general election date of July 4.The main focus of the inquiry is whether bets were placed using private information before the then-prime minister abruptly announced an early election.When a former MP acknowledged he was being investigated for betting £100 ($126) on a July election, the scandal first surfaced in June.
