UK gambling industry set to include £500 affordability checks

Insiders are losing faith in UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) boss Andrew Rhodes' claims that the regulator doesn't mandate affordability checks on the nation's gambling industry. The gambling reform will almost certainly include affordability checks, but he wouldn't specify how. However, Racing Post claims that William Hill has already implemented a $600 threshold in advance of the Cheltenham Festival next month. The fact that some bettors may soon experience spending caps of £500 (US$600) does not allay the worries.
