UK Gambling white paper to include mandatory checks, taxes

Through voluntary agreements, gaming operators donate millions of dollars annually to charities and health care organizations in the UK. When the UK government publishes a revised gambling white paper, those agreements won't be optional any longer. Since gambling legislation has been a topic of discussion, there has been talk of imposing a new tax on the UK gaming business. However, there is disagreement over whether it will be included in the final version of the changes. Any funds that originate as donations from the gaming business will not be accepted by the UK's National Health Service (NHS). A mandatory levy would therefore be required as a replacement in order to satisfy it and increase the government agency's funds.
