UK government unwilling to restrict gambling advertisements within sports

Despite calls from the Department of Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, the UK government is hesitant to impose more stringent regulations on gambling advertising. More evidence is needed, the government said in response to the second report of the latter body.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport proposed new rules that could be enforced through the cross-sport gambling sponsorship code of conduct in order to reduce the amount of advertisements during sporting events.
