UK set to advance with land-based gambling reforms

Following the release of its comments to a consultation on white paper proposals, the UK government will move forward with plans to change the laws governing land-based gambling establishments.

According to the announcement made last year, the plans call for amending the 1968 Gaming Act to allow more gaming machines in establishments that satisfy the 2005 Gambling Act's requirements for small casinos. The number of gaming machines that small casinos are permitted to have per premises license will rise from 20 to 80.
