Ukraine gambling regulator detained due to alleged Russian connections

On suspicion of aiding a Russian online casino that operates in Ukraine, the head of the country's Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries has been placed under arrest. The charges against the leader, who has been in charge of the authority since its founding in October 2020, go beyond the casino connections as well. Authorities apparently found a significant amount of a material suspected of being narcotics in his hands during a search, which further complicates an already well-known case.
