United Arab Emirates gambling regulator hires the services of ex-lawyer

It's possible that the United Arab Emirates isn't quite ready to formally declare the opening of casinos. But that's where it seems to be going, for sure.

One of the latest additions to the ranks of the newly established General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority is a retired Missouri lawman. This is the only body in charge of regulating, sanctioning, supervising, and administering gaming operations within the United Arab Emirates. It has been gradually expanding its staff in recent times, adding a manager of talent acquisition and management as well as a specialist in gaming coordination.

This is an interesting development for the gambling industry in the UAE. Hiring an experienced lawyer indicates they are serious about properly regulating casinos and gaming as they look to further develop that sector. It will be important to have robust compliance and ensure responsible gaming practices are followed.
