US gamblers lose $17.6billion in second quarter of 2024

Playing at land-based casinos, on internet gambling platforms, and on sports wagers, American gamblers lost $17.63 billion in the second quarter.

According to the American Gaming Association, the combined gross gaming revenue of the 37 states and Washington, D.C. that permit commercial gaming amounted to $17.63 billion. This is the richest second quarter ever for the commercial gaming sector in the United States and represents a nearly 9% gain over the same quarter in 2023.
