US imposes sanctions on Cambodia gambling tycoon

Because of "their role in serious human rights abuses related to the treatment of workers subjected to forced labor in online investment scam operations," the US announced that it will impose sanctions on a gaming tycoon from Cambodia, his conglomerate, and three hotels that he owns or controls.

In the southern provinces of Kep and Kampot, the prime minister of Cambodia prohibited the opening of new casinos in July. The only casinos at Bokor Mountain that are currently open will be spared.
