US lawmakers introduce bill for federal sports betting regulations

Federal sports betting laws are to be established nationwide, according to a bill that US lawmakers have formally announced they are introducing.

Federal standards are established for all sports betting operations, both online and in physical stores, by the Supporting Affordability & Fairness with Every Bet Act, which also attempts to lessen the negative effects of gambling and addiction.

Once the legislation is passed, all US states that currently have legal sports betting markets operating will have a year to meet federal standards.
