US Supreme Court asked to intervene in impasse between Florida state and the Seminole Tribe

The $2.5 billion gaming compact between the state and the Seminole Tribe has been challenged in court by two cardrooms in Florida. The latter received a monopoly on statewide mobile sports betting thanks to the agreement. If the Supreme Court decides to hear the case, the outcome may have an impact on American online sports betting in the future.

This statute has been interpreted broadly by the State of Florida. It contends that because Seminole land is home to the Tribe's internet servers, all mobile betting transactions take place there.
