Vallejo city council greenlights controversial tribal casino

The Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians of California will run a new gambling establishment that will be built thanks to a resolution approved by the Vallejo City Council. Proponents contend that the property would boost the local economy and create a large number of new jobs, notwithstanding some reservations.

The tribe would construct a 400,000-square-foot casino as part of the proposed Scotts Valley Casino Project. The property will be open continuously and is anticipated to cost $700 million. On the land that has been entrusted to them, the Pomo Indians will also construct 24 single-family homes, a biological preserve, a parking lot, and a building for tribal administration.
