Bookmaker MintBet was fined $100,000 by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission in Australia for repeatedly violating their Responsible Gambling Code of Conduct.
The Commission discovered that, contrary to the code's requirements, MintBet continued to accept bets from the customer even though the customer had shown signs of distress that might have been related to problem gambling.
Only after the client formally acknowledged they were suffering losses as a result of their gaming did MintBet terminate their account.
