Viewership is driving women's enthusiasm for sports betting

The NCAA championship game between LSU and Iowa, which featured a star-studded lineup, attracted 9.9 million people and became the most-watched women's collegiate basketball game ever. Record numbers of people attended the Women's World Cup this summer. At the halfway point of this season, the WNBA had a 46% year-over-year gain in viewers, continuing its upward trend from prior years. As a result, commissioner Cathy Engelbert recently said that the league is seriously contemplating expansion. This increasing tide is also reflected in the betting markets.
